A grieving mother goes undercover to investigate her daughter’s mysterious death at a luxury memoir-writing workshop run by a charismatic, controlling literary icon on the shores of Lake Atitlán, Guatemala in this atmospheric thriller for fans of HBO’s The White Lotus, Lisa Jewell, Megan Abbott, and Ashley Audrain. |
We finally have a bestseller this week that all the lists can agree on: Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry. It’s no surprise to see Emily Henry’s newest title here, but I did do a double-take when I saw Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt, because it came out in 2022. It turns out, it just got a deluxe edition. So if you want a copy with sprayed edges, now is your time!
Two more titles appearing here for the first time are King of Envy by Ana Huang, the latest in the billionaire romance series Kings of Sin, and 25 Alive by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro, which is the 25th(!) volume in the Women’s Murder Club thriller series.

This list continues to lack of diversity on many levels, including being disproportionately by white authors. Some Indie Bestsellers you should know about are The Buffalo Hunter Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones, Martyr! by Kaveh Akbar, and One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This by Omar El Akkad.
To get these numbers, we look at the New York Times, both Combined Print & E-Book Fiction and Combined Print & E-Book Nonfiction lists; Amazon Charts, both Fiction and Nonfiction; Publishers Weekly; and Indie Bestsellers, Fiction and Nonfiction, both Paperback and Hardcover. New additions to the list this week are bolded.
