That could not hardly have gone better for Chelsea. They bossed the match from start to finish, demonstrating their total superiority over limited opponents. There was some snappy interplay, smart finishes and some fine individual performances amid a collective success: Giroud netted a hat-trick, Loftus-Cheek and Willian were excellent and Hudson-Odoi had some fine moments, including a goal. If Chelsea are to win the Europa League and reach next season’s Champions League, more performances like this will be in order, though the opposition will become much tougher than poor Kyiv.
