The Lost Daughter, was the biggest winner at 2022’s Independent Spirit Awards, which celebrate the best in independent film. Maggie Gyllenhaal’s directorial debut picked up awards for Best Feature, Best Screenplay, and Best Director.

Other winners included Taylour Paige, who was recognized for her leading performance in Zola, and Troy Kotsur, who was recognized for his supporting performance in CODA. After his win here, and his earlier win at this year’s SAG Awards, he’s cemented his status as an Oscar frontrunner.
