Horror powerhouse Blumhouse, known for scaring the hell out of us with Paranormal Activity, Insidious, Sinister, and M3GAN, has cannonballed into gaming, giving fans a peek at its upcoming cozy horror game during the Summer Game Fest over the weekend.
Grave Seasons is a farming sim like Stardew Valley, Immortal Life, or Fields of Mistria that comes with a terrifying, murdery twist. While you’re sowing your crops and building relationships in the town of Ashenridge, players need to identify the town resident who might be a) a serial killer and b) not quite human — all before another body turns up.
“It’s a farming game with supernatural murder,” Louise Blain, creative lead at Blumhouse Games, said during a fireside chat at SXSW London last week. “So you get to do all the things that you would do when you’re farming, except the people in the town are disappearing horribly.”
“Everything that you would do in a normal farming game is there, the economy, everything is there, they won’t subvert that, but you don’t know where that’s going to change,” she added. “You don’t know where the ground is going to shift under your feet, because something unexpected has happened.”
Grave Seasons is coming to PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox in 2026.
