Jared Leto has officially arrived in Sony’s corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And it’s quite a horror show.
This first full trailer gives us a taste of Leto’s take on Morbius, the Marvel Comics “living vampire” (as he’s been called in print) and anti-hero. The upcoming movie is an origin story, and this generous three-minute look sets the stage for how Dr. Michael Morbius makes his transformation and the effects it has on him.
The trailer also reminds us, briefly, that Michael Keaton factors into this movie in some way. (He appeared in the previous Morbius teaser as well.) It’s an especially interesting development for eagle-eyed MCU geeks given the Disney MCU’s still-unfolding lean into a multiverse story, which seems poised to bring big surprises in December’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Whatever happens in that movie, Morbius may pick up some of those pieces when it hits theaters in January.
