Late night shows nix live audiences as coronavirus spreads

As the coronavirus outbreak worsens, late night is going staff and guests only.

On Wednesday, multiple New York-based productions — including The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and The Daily Show with Trevor Noah announced they would begin taping without live audiences starting March 16Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, set to film this evening, will do the same effective immediately. 

Local officials are currently reporting 53 confirmed cases of COVID-19 within New York City limits. The precaution against the spread of coronavirus has already been taken by numerous daytime talk shows in the areaThe View, Live with Kelly and Ryan, Tamron Hall, and Rachael Ray began filming without in-studio audiences today.
