While you’d be correct on all three counts, calling a Vitamix a blender is a bit like calling an air fryer something that just reheats leftover fries — it doesn’t capture the full picture.

Vitamixes in general are known for their high-speeds and power that allow you to not only make drinks, but also dips, frozen treats, nut butters, and even fully-heated soups (that’s without the assistance of a stove). This model in particular comes with presets for these concoctions (and the self-clean mode) on its touchscreen interface.

Here’s where it really justifies its price though — this is a smart blender. For one, that means that the base reads the container sizes and adjusts the program settings and blend time accordingly (though additional containers from the 64-oz one are sold separately). That blend time also shows up on the touchscreen and will shut off as soon as its done to avoid over-blending. As with any good smart product, you can connect the A3500 to an app, where you can access 17 more programs and over 500 recipes to try out. Basically, there’s a lot you can make with just this one blender.
