Shell will change its name to She’ll for International Women’s Day, effectively solving sexism

In a stunning display of performative feminism, Shell is changing its name to She’ll for International Women’s Day. 

Well, one Shell. A female-owned Shell station in San Dimas, California will add an apostrophe to its logos on Mar. 8 in an effort to inspire “the female leaders of tomorrow by closing the gender gap in engineering and technology through education, engagement, and awareness across the organization and industry,” a Shell spokesperson told CBS Los Angeles. It’s part of their new initiative “She Will,” which seeks to diversify the company’s workforce. 

CBSN producer Sam Gavin posted a mock-up of the updated logo, which includes a comically small apostrophe to turn “Shell” into “She’ll.”  Read more…
