This excellent streaming deal combines Showtime and the Paramount+ app

If there’s one thing streaming services seem to love these days, it’s merging.

If there’s one thing we loved as a result of these mergers (though they’re not without their downsides), it’s the killer deals you can get from the bundles these services offer as a result.

Through Oct. 2, you can save $4 on a subscription to Paramount+ Essential and Showtime and pay just $7.99 a month. Or, you can opt for the ad-free Paramount+ Premium and Showtime bundle and pay just $12.99 per month, down from $14.99. Individually, a Showtime subscription can run you $10.99 per month and a Paramount+ subscription starts at $4.99, meaning without the discounted rates, these bundles are a good deal, and with them, a great deal.

Paramount Global, the parent company of both services, has offered bundles before, but these discounts come in light of Showtime content being directly available through the Paramount+ app. That means no switching between apps is necessary for enjoying movies and shows like Star Trek: Lower Decks, Yellowjackets, and Billions all in one sitting.

Both bundles will grant you access to the prestige television listed above, but there are some differences between the two tiers beyond the ads. The Essential plan does not include your local CBS live station, but you can watch live sports. Either plan offers you commercial-free access to Showtime, which, by the way, might not have a standalone app in the near future.

For those who subscribed to Paramount+ already, or opted for another Paramount+ and Showtime bundle before these deals went live, you can still get in on the savings. Here’s how:

• Existing subscribers with only a Paramount+ subscription or with a Paramount+ and Showtime bundle subscription can navigate to their account page and select “Change Your Plan.” From there, you can pick either bundle at its discounted rate. It’s worth noting that if you’re in the middle of a free trial, it will end immediately upon switching your plan.

If you’re subscribed to both services separately, you will have to cancel both subscriptions and then sign up for one of these available bundles. A small pain, but almost certainly worth it if you love your streaming services.
