JDK 12 is in Rampdown Phase One

As of last week, JDK 12 entered Rampdown Phase One which basically means that the overall feature set is frozen and no further JEPs will be targeted to this release.

However, the stabilization repository, jdk/jdk12, is open to select bug fixes and, with approval, late enhancements. Check out the details here.

POLL RESULTS: What are the hardest languages to learn?

At the beginning of the month, we asked you to give us your opinion on which programming language has the steepest learning curve, among a number of choices and the results are in.

Unsurprisingly, Assembly is crowned the most difficult language to learn on a beginner level followed by Haskell. To be honest, we would have expected Haskell to rank first, given its very unique nature, but apparently, we underestimated the difficulty of Assembly! You can find the full results here.

Gitlab CEO,  Sid Sijbrandij, had said, “All roads lead to compute.” And GitLab seems to be following this road pretty passionately. Last week, we got the news that the team announced the GitLab Serverless, due to be released with the next GitLab version later this month.
